Hello!
Have you tried Setting Background color to Black instead of White?

FWIW: My advise would be to keep the background WHITE.  A black background is an AutoCAD thing it make it easier to see colors.  A black background in Revit is not a benefit and is frankly, IMO/E, a nuisance.  Been there; tried that -- hated it.  Revit is not AutoCAD.  I'm surprised a tutorial would even suggest it.

Totally disagree, I experience eyestrain with a white background. (Don't even try to tell me that isn't a thing.) I gave it a month when I first started Revit because I was working in both programs throughout the course of a day and people were saying that it shouldn't be changed and my eyestrain was my imagination. It was such a relief when I changed Revit to be black. IMVHO, what someone chooses as a background is a personal choice and has no significance to the program being used.

It's a background, how does that make a black one an AutoCAD thing? The default isn't even black anymore. I worked with someone that used a pink color and liked it.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

WHOA!  Sounds like I hit a tender spot.  You ought to get that looked at, @RobDraw.  You don't it to fester and start seeping puss.  Yuck!

P.S. I always hated those blue heads on black. Gave me a headache.

I set a white background in Revit and a black in AutoCAD because one is WYSIWYG and the other is not.

Yeah, sorry, @barthbradley. I've had too many heated discussions about black vs. white backgrounds. Your statement encouraging staying with white because it's not AutoCAD has been made and argued for by some real winners.

"Why can't we all just get along?"

Yeah there shouldn't be any arguments. Let's people like what they like, whether it is black, white, or normal.

Politics, Religion and Screen Background Color...three conversation topics that will always lead to an argument.
