I'm trying to make a material to represent a Sicis domes glass tile. This is an oval-shaped tile. How do you interlock material sample edges so that one blends into the other when it is tiled, and not get gaps between tiles?

If you are talking about a rendering image to tile? I wouldn't tile an image of a individual glass tile or bead. I'd find an image representing a square foot or two of the mosaic pattern you want, and tile that image. Or do I misunderstand?
for example:
...I'll add that this will usually require some Photoshopping (i.e. cropping, blurring, etc.) if you want the image to tile seamlessly.
