Interiors showing through an exterior elevation in Revit

Anonymous

Hello everyone,

Has anyone experienced an issue with interiors showing through an exterior elevation in Revit? See Image attached.

This is in Hidden Line view (not wireframe) using the typical components. Even if a new elevation is taken, the same results.

Looked at View Templates, Design Options, redrawing the wall but everything looks right.

Any ideas will be helpful. Thanks!

Check if you haven't :

  • an Override for Category or Element for that Exterior Wall
  • a View Template that saves the transparency settings
  • or even if the Object Style >Walls has not a Material with Transparency ...is this visible in a 3d View too?

Hi,

Maybe there's a Filter active on the viewtemplate making the wall transparent or even the whole category.

Or the "show hidden lines" property of the view set to All?

I take it the interior is modelled and not a dwg placed in view?

Post a screenshot of the view's properties or maybe share the file/or part of it.

Hello,

Thank you for your response. I did check all these settings again.

  • There is no override on the exterior walls.
  • Nothing to do with the transparency settings as well. They look right.
  • I checked the Wall Material as well and there is no transparency. This is not visible in 3D View. My 3D view looks correct. Please find Image attached.

The only issue is with the exterior elevations. Also, this issue is for Multiple elevations and not just this one. I tried creating new elevations as well but still the same issue.

Please let me know if I am missing out on something.

Thank you.

Maybe just a corrupted view?

Lets see the file. Post it.

Hello,

Thank you for your response. I did check all these settings again as well.

  • There is no active filter on the view template.
  • I tried all settings in the “Show Hidden Line” option and it does not work.
  • This is an issue with most of the exterior elevations I have on the file so not something to do with the view. Also, even if I create a new elevation, I still have the same issue.

Attaching images for your reference. Please let me know if I am missing out on something.

Thank you.

Most of the exterior elevations on file have this issue. Also, I tried creating new views as well. Still the issue remains.

Thanks.

Yes, Phases are used. Where can I find the Transparency setting in phase settings? Thank you.

Also, I realized when I convert the same elevation to PDF, the interiors disappear. The elevations look like normal in PDF but still the same in Revit.

See the used phase and phase filter for the view.

Settings for the filters can be found here:

Phases and settingsPhases and settingsFor the printing, if tranparancy was used it's possible the pdf printer doesn't support it?

ps. On a different system the interior also shows, graphics issue?

Check your View Discipline. if it is set to Mechanical or Plumbing this will happen.

Yes already checked on the Phases you listed here too. They look right. I have crosschecked them with other Revit projects as well. They are the same.

Yes, tried it on different systems as well. Still see the interiors on exterior elevations.

Thanks for all your help. Really appreciate it.

This is how it looks. Let me know if anything needs to be changed.

Also, it is not just an issue of Plumbing components showing up. I can see some interior walls, Case works and a lot of other interior elements as well in different elevations. Thank you.

Just came across another post, a shot in the dark?

Any dwg's visible in the elevation (even if it's in the floorplan), try turning all imports off?
