Interior Elevation Tag

i'm unable to see the elevation tag when placed in a drafting view. I can see the elevation in the project browser.

What steps do I take to show the elevation tag in the floor plan/drafting view?

First of all, let's get our terminology correct. You screenshot shows that you are currently in a Plan View and are checking the view properties for an Elevation View named "Kitchen 1". Drafting Views are entirely different kind of views.

I believe what you are asking, is why you can't see, in your Plan View, the elevation marker that refers to the "Kitchen 1" elevation view. Check in the Plan View's Visibility and Graphics, under the Annotation Catagories Tab, and see if the "Elevations" category is unchecked.  You can also use the "Reveal Hidden Elements" to find and unhide hidden elements in a view.

Elevation is checked in the Visibility Graphics Overrides. It is not hidden as well. Annotation Categories is grayed. Does that indicate anything?

Yes, it indicates that a View Template is controlling those settings.

Did you try "Reveal Hidden Elements". I'll bet they're hidden them by "By Element", as opposed to "By Category".

...or a Filter is controlling their visibility in the view.

What is the solution if elevation is checked in the view template and is still not visible?

It is not hidden by elements or category. I've also checked filter.

What? Ha!

Alright, do this: right-click on the elevation and select "Find Referring Views...". What's listed?

It is showing in another view. How can I get the elevation to show in the plan view?

no, what I think it is, is that it's in another Phase. Right?

you're right. The phase it is in is "Show Complete". The Floor plan view phase is " Show Previous and New" and is grayed out.

First of all: those are Phase Filters not Phases.  Anyways, set the PHASE of the Elevation and Plan View the same (e.g. "New Construction", "Existing") and the markers will show up. Get it?

The phase filter of the Elevation and the Plan View are the same. They both are grayed out and not editable. Whereas the phase filter of the view in which the elevation tag is showing is different and is editable.

again...

1.) PHASE FILTER is not what I am talking about. I'm talking about the PHASE

2.) The view where Annotation Categories are grayed out, is controlled by a VIEW TEMPLATE

Check the View Properties to see what PHASE it's showing, and what VIEW TEMPLATE is applied to the view.

...c'mon Thulasi; I'm working hard for this solution credit, so stick with me. I can't feed my family with kudos.  Smiley (zwinkernd)

Thank you for your patience and help. I'm trying my best to understand how the software works as I've no formal training.
