Hi Everyone,
I am having some major trouble and my office cannot figure out how to revise this setting. We have elevations in this project that are showing through the exterior walls, even when it is on hidden line view.
The backstory: We inherited this model from another architecture office, and it has some settings our team is unfamiliar with. The most pressing issue is that some how, we have certain elements that show up and cannot be turned off. My first step after it not being readily apparent was to import our project settings from our template file's view template settings. I applied this view template to the views and the elements still show.
Key elements I've addressed:
Other than that, I am out of my mind trying to figure this one out. Anyone have ANY ideas?
Best,
Kevin

Welcome to the forum.
Is it possible for you to post the model? Maybe here or in a Dropbox account or similar?
What happens if you change the view's Show Hidden Lines parameter to a value of None instead of the value By Discipline?

That is a good thought. We did try this. It has no effect. (none at all, not even just a partial reaction).
Is the staircase made of Revit system stairs, or is it a family? If it's system stairs then that rules out what I'm about to say, but...
Is it possible all of those families were made with symbolic lines and they're all placed such that those lines are normal to the view? I know, I know, that's an unlikely thing, but it's the only other thing that I can think of besides a graphics card issue.
What happens if you turn off/on graphics hardware acceleration?

Thanks for the input on that. The stairs are system stairs. Some were pre-existing in the model and some were made by me using the standard out of the box stair elements.
Hardware acceleration doesn't affect this issue.
It is comical how hard this is to identify...
Hello again all,
I contacted the original architect for this project and their BIM manager does not know what is happening either. Anyone else have any thoughts?
Kevin
How do I do that securely? I do not want to upload the model to the whole forum.
(I am now posting on our company account, btw)
Thanks,
Kevin
Hi all,
Just came across this thread as I have encountered the same issue on a model I am working on. When I import a M&E model into my structural model I am getting all the hidden lines displaying. I was wondering if the problem was solved or overcome in some way?
Hello Everyone,
Did anyone ever come across a solution to this issue?
I am stuck in a similar situation where the interiors are showing through an exterior elevation in Revit. (Image attached)
Has Autodesk provided any input on this issue? I'm working in Revit 2022 and am having this issue that we know didn't have before with this model. We have some, not all, elevations and sections that appear to be showing hidden lines beyond the wall in the elevation. The views are hidden line views.
I figured this one out, for us anyway. We had an imported 2d cad file that was showing up and once that was hidden in the view the elevation issues were resolved.
