Hi All,
Looking for help! I am new to learning Revit and I have watched many videos on you tube but I am still not finding the specific information I am looking for. I work with an Interior Design company who is consulting a larger architecture firm on the interior lighting design. It was recommended that we coordinate models via Linked Models.
I am wondering,
1. How to set up my model to coordinate with the architectural model? (i.e., levels, elevation views, etc.) I don't want to duplicate the work that has already been done but I do need my model to have the same basic information.
2. How do I place hosted elements on a linked model? (i.e. Light fixtures- interior ceiling mounted, interior wall mounted, and exterior/site- without having the entire building rebuilt into my model?
3. Are there any links to videos, educational tools etc that specifically cover this type of coordination?
Thanks for the help! Looking forward to hearing back.

Hello, and welcome to the forum.
Certain questions are too broad to be answered in a brief post of a forum. In my opinion, this is one of them. Maybe you can refer to the Autodesk Services Marketplace and find a provider who can provide some training about these topics.
1. Link the Arch model into yours using either:
-Origin to Origin
or
- Shared Coordinates, if they have been set up. Make sure the Project Base Point and Survey Point are the same in the Arch model and your Interiors model.
2. Use "face-based" light fixture families, and host them on Reference Planes, -vs- trying to host on the ceilings or walls in the Linked Arch. model.

Hi @Anonymous
I see that you are a new visitor. Welcome to the Autodesk community!![]()
In addition to the recommendations by @cbcarch Please see below steps:
1. Setup:
See article on linking models and
If you are looking to integrate consultants sheets for a project, check this thread and see this article on Grouping sheets in the project browser and Organizing Views in the Project Browser
2. Monitor:
Use the Copy/Monitor tool to monitor changes to elements across a multi-discipline project, and perform coordination reviews to identify potential issues.
See AU class on Best Practices for Coordinating All Disciplines
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have additional questions.

Hello Viveka,
Hope you are keeping well. Have you heard/know anything about ability to join elements with linked elements?
