Instanse of an object

New to Revit software so I do not know the terminology. Is there a way to see how many walls or doors are used in a model? In similar software usually you see this information in a tree like menu. Then one can click on an object in the tree and that will be high lighted in the model.

In Revit, this would be a schedule. A schedule of walls, of doors, etc. Then, to find out where a certain item in the schedule is located in the building, you select a row in the schedule, and click on "Highlight in Model".

Thanks for your response! If you mean as in the picture, why is it empty?

You haven't created any schedules in the project hence being empty.  Go to the view tab > Schedules > Schedule/Quantities.  From there pick the family category you want.  https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2014/EN...
