I am going to need to install Revit 2021 in my workstation at home soon. I have a dual boot box linux/windows7. I see in the system requirements that Revit 2021 is supporting only windows 10 and I would really prefer to avoid the hassle to upgrade from win-7 and I really dont like win 10. The question is there is any reason for Revit 2021 to not run on a fully updated win7? there is anybody there running this app in win7?
the second question is. if I have no other option than windows 10 I would really prefer to do a win10 virtualmachine (VmWare) in the linux host instead to upgrade a windows 7 partition. It is there anybody with this type of set up? How is the performance of Revit on Vmplayer or Vmworkstation?
thank you in advance.
Cheers
I have not tried it but you might find it impossible to install it on win7 or win8. Even if you could manage to get it running you still can expect to run into all kinds of issues.
Virtual machine should be ok as long as you give it enough resources. Not used vmware, but other solutions like Citrix (cloud based). No (major) issues in most cases.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
