I don't know why I can't find a good answer to this—I feel like I've been looking but the closest I've come is an official support page that is not helpful, because it doesn't actually show how to get to the point ...

Am I missing something during installation?

I don't want family and material libraries wasting gigabytes of space on my boot drive when I have tons of space on a secondary drive. Is anyone aware of a simple way of having them installed to another drive? Apologies in advance for sounding frustrated, and maybe it's my fault, but Autodesk's sometimes inability to anticipate and address simple issues in a relatively intuitive way combined with seemingly incomplete official support documentation can be maddening in the middle of a work day.

I know that they have changed something with the deployment method in 2021 but we skipped that version.  Nonetheless, you should be able to specify the location where to install the content library

Even if downloads to the default location on C: you should be able to relocate them after to any drive you wish and reset the file path in Revit option.

You could also download and install without the content libraries and later download these separately to any desired location using the executables found on the following link
