Inserting a Component defaults to Parking space

I am trying to insert a counter top in a floor plan and when I select the countertop it defaults to a parking space.  Escaped out of the command and started over three times. Each time it wants to insert a parking space, even when I select something else. What setting should I check?

Select the countertop and type in CS (Create Similar) in your keyboard. This will create same item. Next time if you click on the add component, it will default to the last item you've created.

Interesting. Not sure why it is defaulting to parking space as I have never selected this component. I am working on the 5th floor, so no parking spaces needed...
