Insert steel reinforcement in truncated cone wall

Hello,

I need to insert steel reinforcement in a truncated cone wall. I created the shape as mass (Swept Blend) then converted to wall.

Thanks in advance

Start Rebar and use Free Form ... alternatively use Dynamo (you can find several nodes and packages that do that...and should be able to find even a ready made graph for that on google, youtube, or dynamobim forum

Hello @RDAOU  thanks for the prompt reply,

I tried but I wasn't able to create any rebar. Attached you find the rvt file that I'm trying to insert rebars. If you could show me how you will do, it would be much appreciated

Walls by face cannot host rebars... you need to use one of the following:

  • Option 1: Create the Walls using the generic Model ie: cut the one you have with another void swept blend so it becomes a chimney rather than a solid mass and then enable the option Can Host Rebars in Family Category and Parameter. This way when you load it you dont need walls and can host rebars straight onto the component
  • Option 2: Discard both walls and generic model and model the walls using Structural Walls / Slanted See below GIF

If you use Revit 2022 you can create slanted/curved walls and they can host rebars.
