Individual Window Elevations for unique windows

We have large buildings with many unique window sizes and instances. We don't typically use type legends because the sizes and details vary greatly from window to window, creating unique window instances. This usually ends up in us creating a window elevation and placing an elevation at every window and placing the individual elevations on sheets.

It can be very tedious at times, as all of the elevation markers can clutter up plans, and windows can get missed or the elevation can get mislabeled. I am wondering if there is a better way to show every instance. Is it possible to put every instance in a legend??

Create a new legend, then go to annotate --> component --> legend component and select the window you want, then select elevation:front and place it in the legend.

Legend is more suitable to type components, not instance components.  You can still use actual elevation to create a legend, but use an unique elevation view type so that you can filter them out of plan view by type name, or set the value of Not show at scale coarser than...  so that they won't show in floor plans.

In our practice, for windows of the same type but with different dimensions, we only show one typical type and refer to a window schedule for dimensions.
