Incorrect export of Hatches from Revit to DWG Format

Hello to all,
We are experiencing some inconsistent dwg output from Revit, when trying to export special/complicated hatches.

These hatches have been created by coding them from hand in a txt file, as well as with the "Make pattern" tool in PyRevit.

As we can see in the attached images the brick wall looks good in Revit (and PDF!), but won't export correctly in DWG.

Do you have any recommendations on how to solve this problem?

I've read it could be due to the "character line size limit", but we can't seem to overcome this, even when generating the hatches with PyRevit.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help and any ideas/indications on how to proceed in this case...

If you import the hatch created from Pyrevit into AutoCAD and create the hatch, do you get the same problem?

Have you edited your export settings?

  • File > Export > DWG >
  • select the "..." button next to the Select Export Settings
  • select the Patterns tab
  • pick the Fill Pattern and then select the Hatch Pattern for DWG.

you can point the "Load DWG hatch patterns from:" to the AutoCAD's default PAT or any other PAT file holding your hatch patterns.

default AutoCAD can be found here....

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2023\UserDataCache\en-us\Support\acad.pat
