I have some issue. My custom In-Place mass shape is not converting into roof anybody help me to solve the problem.![]()
This works with using a wall by face and setting it so the surface of your mass is the external surface of the wall
The ridge will not work otherwise
Hi!
Probably, too complex for Roof by Face. You can use Wall by Face instead.
Kind regards,
Dmitriy Semko.
thank you so much guys for your opinion but my question is different ...
i know about the wall option but i have seen this video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXaq6ElI9S0 ) this video guide me for making the element from roof .
can you please guide me how to make this because i have done all the things which is shown in tutorials but i can't make this element from roof that's my problem ![]()
Your form is too extreme so Revit cannot create a Roof from it. I "rationalized" it a little bit to smooth out the sharp turns and it works.
Did you watch that tutorial carefully?
That guy also failed to make roof similar form.
You can start with simple form, and create a Roof by Face. Than edit your Mass a little bit, and update the roof. Repeate this two steps some ammount of times and you'll find the boundarys of roof flexibility, may be a bit less curved roof will work properly.
Hello
look you have to know that revit will not always respond to what you give him as command in this case of a complicated roof you have to make it with sub steps before getting to the final shape and after each step you will make an update for the face so you will have the desired form
i attached a file where i made an organic roof but first with a simple profile then i added profile ( in your model you added edge try to add profile so you wont cut the mass into two parts ) and modified them and after each modification i made an update for the face .
