Hello!
I am working on a structure which has several diagonal constructional features (so, it's impossible to have the structural grid strictly orthogonal). When I need to draw a model line, I often encounter a problem that it does not snap to endpoints, but just goes vertical (snaps to vertical axis). See screenshot attached.
I tried to turn all snaps on/off, check/uncheck them, but nothing works. I don't want it to snap to ortho, only to end- or midpoints.
I couldn't find any solution on the web, everyone just says "turn off the snaps", which, as I said, does not work for me.
I would be grateful for your suggestions.
I think it will always have a vertical / horizontal 90deg snap but you could try setting the snap angle you want in the Manage Tab > Snaps > Angular dimension snap increments
Model lines need the be drawn on a work plane. Do draw them free from work plane, use structural framing and turn on 3d snap, or create a mass in place and draw model lines with 3d snap.
Unfortunately this also did not work for me.
It's normal that axes snaps are present, but I don't believe there is no possibility to make a slightly diagonal element/line....
Hi,
i encountered the same problem while modeling from point cloud, as we want to have a real as build, that is not perfect 90 degrees.
What i di is i used the angular snap, but instead of the 1 5 15 45 90 or whatever degrees, i added 1 2 3 4 5 degrees.
So the steps are much smaller in between.
Hope that helps
PS: I drives me nuts as well that u can turn off the ortho like in autocad.
