I followed a youtube video on how to import from sketchup to revit. It advised to"link cad" instead of "import" but everything came in grey and I can't select it when trying to put a material. How do I add materials to the sketchup models?
If your Sketch Up model is created carefully using layers for specific forms/faces then you can assign those layers to materials in Revit via Object Styles or Visibility/Graphics.

I just took them from 3D warehouse and brought them into revit. I can't do anything to them now to fix layers?
If you don't have Sketch Up, not that I'm aware of...unless you explode the SU model and create native forms in Revit. Check out the Autodesk online info on importing Sketch Up.
