Importing dxf file to Title Blocks family

Our title block family has jpg company logo imported, but it has been commented that the logo is not clear enough (especially when the title block is smaller and the logo is also smaller). We found out if we import dxf file in stead of jpg/png, the image become clearer (no fuzziness around the edges or on the background).

My question is, should we avoid import dxf file into a title block family? I have been avoiding having any dwg files in any of families in our library, and importing dxf (not dwg, but still CAD file) scares me.

If you have any input on this, good or bad, that will be appreciated. Also, if there is a trick to make jpg/png image showing up clearer (sharp outline, without fuzziness) that would be great too. Thank you!

I would rebuilt the titleblock with Revit instead of keeping the DXF import.

As for image, I would use website like https://www.autotracer.org/ to convert JPG to vector so you can use it in Revit.

Thank you for reply. Yes, I was thinking that too. I will plan on making the logo in the title block or create a separate family. Thanks again!

It depends on the complexity of your logo. Revit has its limitation when creating very short line/arch segments so if it is the case then you do need to import the DXF in a generic annotation family (do not explode it) then load it in your titleblock families.

Thank you for reply. As far as the complexity of the logo, it is not too bad. It has multiple colors, so creating filled region types for each color could be painful. That is the reason why I am considering making a nested component, so that filled region types will be contained in a separate, reusable component. Bad part is it won't be scalable without multiple dimension parameter and formula, but might worth enough to make it parametric for future use 🤔 I will do some tests. Thank you again!
