Imported site plan not appearing on elevations

I was following the Revit video courses, specifically "Work with CAD models from others inside Revit" and I was able to import the dwg site plan into revit's site sheet, however the video shows that on south elevation sheet i should be able to move the site plan 54' but on my south elevation is not showing the site plan. I tried View-->Visibility/Graphics-->Imported Categories where i should be able to locate the imported site plan with its layers but is not there either. Has anyone encounter this issue that can help?

When you link the CAD file in, do not tick the box Current View only so that it shows in other views. And use Link, not Import.

Is it a 2D DWG?

What are you trying to do exactly?  A 2D DWG will just show as a bunch of linework stacked on top of each other on the same plane in an Elevation View.

I think I may have misread you. Are you saying you created a Toposurface from the Imported DWG and now you are trying to move the Toposurface down in Elevation? If so, turn on the Topography Category.
