I am not entirely sure that the 2 points below are connected but it does seem like a coincidence.
Is there a way of scaling the coordinates to match the imported background?
Or a way for the coordinates to recognize this difference?
Apart from changing The Project Units settings I cannot see another way of doing this!
I would simply bring the OS in at 1:1 using the import unit settings and change the project units to match if required!
Re-importing the OS background at a 1:1 scale is certainly an option but our last one since we have modelled a lot already.
For example if I go to the annotate tab > spot coordinate - to annotate areas where I want to show coordinates.
What i was referring to was that the OS needs to match Revit - a meter in Revit should be a Meter in the OS so the same scale! (Even if the units are not the same mm or m)
To try and clarify as to prevent lots of posts
Have you drawing everything in Revit at the right scale? So 1mm = 1mm?
If so you can edit the Units of the Spot Coordinates to suit

What's the Coordinate Base of the Spot Coordinate?
Survey Point Marker and Survey Point ORIGIN can be at two different locations. Perhaps you unclipped and moved the Marker away from the Origin.
Hopefully this gives a bit more clarity. The image shows the edge of a walkway. The 2 coordinates shown on the right should not be near each other. Coordinate N50.357 E-4.834 should be on the opposite corner bottom left. The length of this distance in the model is 10000mm but the distance between the coordinates is 0.1. Bit confused!

BTW: how far from the Project Internal Origin are your elements?
in this model i know that i am using Millimetres as this is the Base Units for this Template so it is recording 800mm for the Pile Cap which is 800mm in width so i know this is correct but my Spot Coordinates (for the Survey Point) are set to Metres - does this happen with your model?
The OS background we use is in a DWG format which is linked into the RVT model.
Ok. So units used in our template for length is mm under the common discipline. This is why it shows 9000mm on the side of the snapshot shared before which is correct. No it doesn't show that because (I think) I have set the spot coordinate property to mm.
Spot Coordinates report accurately on my end.
Moved Survey Point Marker to Survey Point Origin:
Another example of where the coordinates are in real world but not the same in our model.
You need to reset your coordinates and start again as there is some incorrect information being shared between models and links.
One last ditch attempt at understanding what's going on with my model! Attached is a RVT with an OS Background linked into it (not changed). The walkway showing 2 spot coordinates are correct for setting out the walkway. This is where I want these 2 points to be. My problem is that now the model is too small for when I do dimensions and model elements in. Everything is too big for example when I draw a pipe or show a dimension. Have I lost the plot?
*****Apologies I gave the wrong coordinate unit before. I got confused myself and was using decimals instead of easting and northings. The easting and northing coordinates shown in the attached model are correct for what I want at these points on the walkway.
Coordinates are dead on ballz accurate using the Specify Coordinates at Point method.
