I am trying to do a 3d model for site. I have dwg file with building lines , roads etc. I imported the cad file but i can not explode it because it has more than 10,000 elements.
Also i have another question revit is capable of picking Query lines continuously but when i want to trace the cad file with pick lines tool (Toposolid , model in place , etc) it only picks a small line. I will show it in the pictures below.
In CAD, check how many elements are in the file. Maybe you can separate the site file as a Grid and import/explode the grid cells individually?
The other thing you can attempt to check in CAD is if your building elements are represented as many small lines or as polylines. If you can modify the file to have as many closed polylines as possible that translate to better results in Revit.
I don't understand what your first question is, but regarding your second question, press Pick Line, hover over the line to highlight it and then press the tab key. It may or may not work in your case, but that is how it's done.
If you over 10000 lines, exploding the CAD will cause issue. I would first check with AutoCAD first and use the command OVERKILL and simply the small line segments and delete any lines overlapping on top of each other. Once you do that cleaning process, this will make the CAD file more manageable within Revit.
This is the cad file. I saved the topo solids as cvs file. But i need to trace other elements in a faster way. If Revit auto draws the pavements with toposolid commend that would be awesome.
i can convert lines to detail lines. I can select those lines with the ''Select all instance''. but when i want convert those lines to toposolid i can not select all of them. There must to be a easier way.
