Hello,
I have drawn a path on a topographical surface using a series of lines. The path is to be 125mm above road level on one side, then 150mm on the other (25mm fall). I have drawn this in AutoCAD which seems to measure everything correctly.
As can be seen in the image below, the path measures exactly 125mm above the road at any given point.
The points opposite have been drawn 1.8m from the road side and perpendicular to the corresponding point. The z-axis has been increased by exactly 25mm to get the right height for the opposite side of the path.
This has been done with all points. The points were then joined up using the line tool to create the path. This was then exported into Revit. Whilst in Revit I have used the section view to view parts of the path.
Upon viewing from my section I have found that the two lines that are parallel and vary in height from 25mm do not measure at exactly 25mm apart.
As can be seen the measurement is 25.2mm instead of 25mm, note I also marked the point needed to be measured from with a green line to ensure I am measuring from the correct location.
My theory as to why this is happening is that the view is not 100% parallel to the path, meaning the measurement will be different due to the perspective to where the view is situated.
Does anyone have any other ideas or theories as to why this is an issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I don't think I have done this.
Can you advise where this button/tick box is please?
Hi,
After checking my drawing I had ticked the box you mentioned and am still getting this error. Do you know of any other solution?
hello, have you check your autocad file DDUNITS , Don't set it to insertion scale to unitless and see if helps. thanks
