Import from Revit to Blender : Origin problem

Hi everyone,

I have a Revit file of a building and I want to import into blender.

The best way I found to do that is to use the "OBJ export2" plugin into Revit because it allows me to choose to keep the materials, textures, etc...

The only problem is when I open the OBJ file in blender, the origin point of my building is not where it is suppose to be. I've set the origin in Revit to a corner of the building but in blender the origin is way of and I can't understand where it comes from...

I have tried to unmask all elements in Revit but nothing is hidden that would get the origin at another point like this.

Thanks for you help

The internal origin in Revit may not be the same as the Project base point if the project base point was moved while unclipped. You could try to select the project base point while clip, right click and choose to move it to start up location. If that doesn't work or cause errors, you can link the model to a new clean file and align the building corner with the file's origin project base point. Then export this file to blender.

Thank you for your answer,

The original base point location is yet at another position (see capture, sorry it's in french) And that does not help me getting the right origin.

The second solution you propose works, but I wish there were a way I could change that in my original file because I am going to get a lot of files from other people and I don't have the time to create a new file each time...

I've seen models where the Project Base Point startup location is way off the Origin.  Not sure how it happened but chances are you have one of those.

Anyhow, if you get models from others to do render in Blender then linking them to a new file to move the entire thing to the origin is recommended.  Messing around with moving the Project base Point or the actual geometry of the original models can break things easily.  Plus, when you get the updates, you can just reload the files instead of messing with them again.
