Import - Export Help

Hi I am new to revit so please excuse me but I need some help.

I have been given a .ifc file from my client. I have imported this into revit and all seems okay.

However when I save this file and open it in Inventor it opens some parts as surfaces and not solids. I have done this previously and all has been fine. Is there a step I am missing or a setting I am not doing to address this?

any help would be gratefully received

It is because the original IFC has some parts as surfaces and not solid.  Bring the IFC in Revit doesn't magically convert surfaces to solids.  If you want all solid elements in Inventor then ask the party who authors the IFC to create them as solids.
