Hi,
I have generated a surface from point cloud data in Civil 3D.
Whenever I try to import this surface in Revit 2021 I get '' some elements were lost during import. ActiveX and some proprietary components cannot be imported ''. I'm new to Civil 3D and Revit, how can I solve this problem. I really need to fix this for my school project. I also tried to change file type from autocad 2018 to autocad 2013 with no help.
The surface was created by following this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UixRizhZz68&ab_channel=RioRyne
I would ignore the warning. Sadly Civil 3d file uses real world geolocation. This means when you link in CAD into Revit, it will be way off. So you have to move the Civil3d file closer to Revit project basepoint.
Hate to tell you this, but I don't think you're going to get Revit to create Toposurface from this Import Instance. I crashed twice trying to do. Best I could do was explode it in AutoCAD and delete a large section of it. I was able to create a Toposurface with 24 Acres of it. -- about a quarter of it's original size.
Regarding those errors, you can ignore them. Those are very common. But, I would bring the CAD into the Project Center-to-Center. Coordinates will get reconciled when you Acquire Coordinates - if that's a concern.
I manage to create the topo using the C-TOPO-MAJR. Sadly the file is heavy and you may want to think about chopping your site into smaller lot.
