I am trying to make decorations for an external wall (something like checkerboards with an arch etc) and I have drawn the sketch in Autocad starting from the origin, and drawn vertically. I prepared my work plane in Revit, but when I'm inserting the file it always goes behind the wall, and no matter how many times I try to move the imported sketch to the plane itself it will move only within the insertion vertical plane.
Can you help?

Maybe try to place a Section in the floor plane directly on the surface of the wall and insert the CAD in the section view.
Hi,
You can create a detail item family and import the autocad file. Then import the family in the project.
If you want to view the lineworks in 3d also then create a generic model family.
If you want to put the lineworks in a face or workplane then create a face based generic model family. In this case you don't have to change work plane.

have you try to load in a wall base family and load in to your project and see if helps. thanks
Thanks for all the answers. I went on and adopted the solution of using a face based family, and it worked.
