Is there away to import AutoCAD fonts into Revit?
Example: AutoCAD has a font named: HAND1
I would like to import that into a Revit template for a client
How do you or can you import AutoCAD fonts into Revit?
Thanks
Revit reads font types from font packages installed on your computer, so that would be the most direct method. Find the font online, or create it, then install the font on your machine. The latter is no small feat unless you have experience creating fonts, to be sure, so finding the font package online may be your best bet.
I would use alternative TTF font like this
https://www.dafont.com/flux.font
Actually if the font exists in Autocad, and you imported it so it should be in you computer system and you can find the font in revit too,
but If the font is already in autocad & you didn't install it just find the name of the font, search it online then download it, then install it to the system with the simple way, then restart your computer and the font should exist in all softwares, Microsoft, Autodesk and etc...
If the font is an SHX shape file, then there is no way to do this. You can map an SHX font to a particular font/text style in Revit so when you import or link the file it the SHX shape file will convert over, but to USE a SHX file as a font in Revit, no that is NOT possible.
If the font in AutoCAD is a TTF or OTF, then you can probably make a text style in Revit using that same font that is installed to your windows OS. I say "probably" because not all OTF fonts are supported by Revit.
