IFC open in Revit lose paramater after IFC Export

Hi all,

I have a little problem :

I create a very simple model : 4 walls 1 room, after I add a new text parameter in my room  : Ifc_TestValue, it's a text parameter and I put it in "Other" Catégorie.

I do an IFC export and I open the IFC in Revit : No problem, the added parameter is visible now in "IFC Paramaters" catégories.

Now I change my Ifc_TestValue in my IFC file and I do a second export (I can't save directly my ifc file in ifc), the parameter has totally disappear (not present at all in the file when I search it whith a text editor) 😕

Can you tell me what's going wrong ?

Of course I can change directly the parameter in the rvt file, but if a person have only the ifc file he can't change the value and this will be problematic.

Hello,

Thanks for reporting this situation.

After further analysis we discovered that, indeed, REVIT may ignore additional parameters assigned to IFC type “IFCSpaces” (This IFC type is used for rooms).

This has been registered in the development team database to get fixed as soon as possible.

I’ve just published the following technical article describing this situation.

NB: Link will be live within 48h from now.

This article provides the status of the defect and will be updated by the development team as soon as this defect get fixed.

The article will also be updated with any new findings related to the situation or the defect.

As for now, I can’t think of any other workarounds than recreating the missing parameters in Revit after in the import.
