ifc import

Hi everybody,

I am trying to import an ifc file to my Revit 2016. and the problem is the whole building is imported as one block. is there any possibility to explode the model? ( like Autocad)

p.s1: I am a beginner in Revit in case my question sounds stupid! :grinsendes_Gesicht_mit_lächelnden_Augen:

p.s2: could you please show me the answer with some the screenshots cuz I am using the German version of Revit and would be confusing to find the path.

Thanks

Pegah

Have you tried to open the IFC directly from the File menu?

Can you provide us with the IFC file to see what is happening?

When the IFC is opened there also is a .rvt file created.

Have you tried to open this file?

When paths are given, change the desktop shortcut from DEU to ENU so Revit is set to English (just for resolving this case) then change it back later.

that is a very simple test file.

I tried to attach the file here but unfortunately i have got this error:

The file example.ifc does not have a valid extension for an attachment and has been removed.

where can I find the .rvt file ?

Simply change the extention from IFC to txt to try and attach or create a link to the uploaded file.

The .rvt file should be located in the same folder as the .IFC. <filename>.ifc.rvt

You can also send a mail by clicking on my username and attaching the IFC to the mail.
