Hello,
I have a question. When I select my elevator model, the interior ( guide rails, etc) become visible. After deselecting these information disappear.
Q: Is it anyhow possible to show the elevator interior?
IFC attached.
Thank you,
Andreas
Gelöst! Gehe zur Lösung
Try changing Detail Level to Medium or Fine.
Try adjusting section cut location ( move section line into elevator shaft, if it is not.)
Is the elevator an IFC import into Revit/or whole project an IFC import?
Have you tried overriding the graphics of the element and setting the surface transparency? 25% should be enough for the lines to be visible.
(You could also change the transparency of the material too)
Cliff,
Thank you for taking care.
It is a IFC that is linked into a default "Architectural Template" project.
I made sections, but even the sections will not show the interior. It should show the counterweight and guide rails etc:
Section does not show counterweight
Here you can see the interiors
These are my thoughts:
- Is it possible that Revit does not support these kind of sections for IFC?
- It seems that only elements exactly in the section plan are shown.
How can I enforce Revit to show ALL contents within the section box ?
(Revit 2019 File attached)
Thank you,
Andreas
Not sure what is happening w/ IFC. ( I don't have Revit 2019 to test)
Have you tried:
-Go to Wireframe View
-Use Linework Tool to pick lines
-Set View back to Hidden Line
Hello Alex,
Thank you for the tip, but I have no idea how to do that.
"Overwrite Graphics in View" -Y "By Element..." is grayed out / inactive.
Can you explain more detailed?
Thank you,
Andreas
In the Plan (or Section) Go to Wireframe View--can you see the elevator cab/components?
If so, then use the Linework Tool, and pick the lines.
Modify Tab>View>Linework Tool>Select Line Type>Pick Lines of elevator components.
Set View back to Hidden Line. Do the lines show up now?
Sorry, i didnt see that it was an IFC.
To set the transparency of an IFC you need to go into the view template / visibility graphics, then Revit Links, then set the display settings to custom, then the Model Categoies to custom, then select everything in the list and set the transparency in there.
Thank you, this procedure was totally new to me and worked, unfortunately not the way I wanted it.
Btw, it seems that Alex showed me what I needed.
Thank you Cliff.
Bingo, that is what I was looking for.
It seems that I can learn every day something new in this tool.
Thanks a lot for that quick help.
Andreas
