Hi,
I found a website which provides an amazingly large supply of professional kitchen equipment, but these are in ifc and dae format. I linked them into a project as ifc files but found the properties box does not have "elevation from level", therefore any table-top items are sitting on the floor:
I need to put them on the table. Does anyone know how to solve this?
They are downloaded from the CESABIM website
The ifc files when linked create a revit project file which saves to the same place. It is possible to add these in "manage links" instead of the ifc. Neither have elevation from level when linked, but is there any preference? I could create an additional level at table top height and put them all on there, and then "hide in view" in my sections, but this seems silly.
Ultimately, is it possible to convert the ifc to rfa?
Many thanks.
I've created a new metric furniture family. This is the import area:
There are no options in import cad - only dwg, dgn, dxf and skp
Is it any better in the full version - I'm in 2020 LT.
Can you select and edit in-place an IFC component in the Project? If so, can you Group it inside Edit Mode? If you can, then you can save the Group out of the Project to an RFA.
Thanks
Tried that - I can only save a group as a .rvt in LT :
can you save it as a .rfa in full version?
Follow the instructions in the Link I posted. You need to Group and Save Group while INSIDE In-Place Editing Mode. Don't close out and then Save Group.
I don't seem to have "in place edit mode"
The only thing I have with the word "edit" is "edit type". With the ifc selected and edit type opened, it is not possible to right click on either the ifc or the "groups" cascade
I'd have to see what you are working with. Post the IFC.
...and the RVT.
