IFC FILES FAILED TO OPEN

There is a lot of issues about problems with exporting to ifc but .....

We receiving ifc files from our clients exported natively by Revit and I cannot simply open them neither in Revit 2019 nor in Navisworks Manage 2019. The files are about 250 mb. After one hour computer is dead.

However we solve problems to see what inside and we use ArchiCAD (our second team using it) – it took about 3-5 minutes to open those files.

Autodesk! Please solve this!

As far as I know this is because when you open/link an ifc (coming from Archicad, Tekla, Revit, etc.) Revit recreates a Revit project based on the provided IFC schema.
I can aggree that working with IFC in general is a annoying, have you tried reducing the LOD and proprety sets of the IFC export?

Unfortunately we have no influence on exporting parameters of those files.
