IFC file showing error when moved to design option

I have imported an IFC file into my Revit model. I see this error whenever I try to move the IFC components to a Design Option

'Element must be in Main Model'

 

All other native Revit components can easily be moved. What could be the problem?

There are hundreds of IFC components and all are showing the same error.
