Hi
I'm having a little trouble with Ifc exporting that is slowly sending me round the bend.
Where I have an element that is 'USERDEFINED', I need to elaborate on this using the 'IfcElementType' or 'IfcObjectType' parameters:
I have populated this with information and exported from Revit to Ifc. On opening up the Ifc in notepad, I can see the values are there:
but when I go into any Ifc viewer, I can't see these attributes listed anywhere:
In FZK Viewer only the 'IfcObjectType' value is listed:
Am I missing something here and does anybody have any thoughts on this?
I've attached the Revit file below.
Many thanks in advance

I think that it's a problem that coming from your IFC viewer.
BIM collab Zoom and BIM vision solved this issue, in Solibri it's still present. Check any update of your viewer.
as you notice from mwith BIMcollab Zoom works
Hi Mauro
Many thanks for your time, but I think you have misunderstood the problem.
There are no issues at all with the two attributes you have highlighted. The issue is that under IFC rules, if the the predefined type is USERDEFINED, one should then define the custom type (i.e., user define it) in an attribute ElementType (Type parameter) or ObjectType (instance or occurrence in IFC terminology). This attribute should appear as additional to the two you have highlighted and is clearly missing from your screenshot.
I have the same problem, as far as I can see Revit is exporting the value correctly, it is just that the viewers cannot read it.
@csds360I know that this question is almost a year old, but it appears that it wasn't marked as solved yet.
I was in contact with Bimcollab support since I had the same question and it looks like that this specific attribute "visualization" has to be turned on in the settings options.
I don't know about the procedure in Solibri, but now I can see the information in BimCollab Zoom. I hope this helps you out.
EDIT: The same goes for IfcElementType (Element Type option)
Cheers!
