IFC color override material doesn't work for floors that are cut

Hey!

I was hoping to get some help with an issue we have with the color of floors that are being cut, either by a Shaft or the Edit Boundary when we export to IFC. See my attached images.

I have a Material applied to the floor and have made the color override in all places I can think of in the Material. Surface, Cut, Shading, Appearance, Self Illumination, Bump, Tint.

The color override works perfectly for floors when I open the IFC model - but only if they aren't being cut. It doesn't matter how much, just a slight cut in the floor will make the color override dissappear and the floor goes white in the IFC-file.

I have tried filters, templates, override in view, Graphic display options, I have no phases/design options/worksets. I use the Revit 2020 IFC-plugin from the Add-in store.

I want the color to stay the same in IFC because I want to be able to illustrate fire sectioning over different levels and to be able to perform collision checks (e.g. MEP and Fire).

The color override does work, kind of, in Navisworks, but not in the other IFC-viewers I have tried (Tekla BIMsight, BIMvision, Solibri)

Has anybody experienced this? I am very thankful for all kinds of help and tips, I feel like I have tried everything but I may have missed something 🙂 Thank you!Floors in Revit. I finally found the solution for this issue. The problem is in Object styles and simply transfering Object styles from a file created with the <None> template will resolve this issue.

I have the same problem with floors in the IFC-export.

I see that the problem will solved with a <none> Template but can this problem solved in a existing project?

Hey @maik

The closest solution I found was recreating the materials and object styles in the model. I did this through Transfer Project Standards where I had created a working model and transfered and overwrote the materials in my current model. Hopefully this will resolve your issue!

Hey @magnus.enstromBIM thanks for the reply!

Transfer Project Standards doesn't work, but I delete the material in my current model and copy/paste from the 'new' project and it was fixed.

Thanks for your help!

With regards, Maik
