I am linking an IFC in a Revit File "A", setting it as an Attachment and not as an Overlay.
Revit file "A" is brought in as a Link Revit to Revit File "B". When doing this I get an error message "Cannot open linked document bim 360 (preview):xxxxx... The link will be unloaded.
If I do the same think on locally hosted Revit files there is no issue.
How can I solve this on BIM 360?
Should the IFC be in the "team folder" that was created in Design Collaboration?
Hey there,
I don't know Revit well enough, so other might chime in.
Just a guess: does the Revit user ahve sufficient permissions to load the file?
Best,
Markus

Hey Marcus I don't know if the issue is because of Revit that is why I put it in BIM 360 DM and Design Collaboration forum as the issue only happens when using the BIM 360 modules.
If I link an IFC file in a revit file as an attachment and then someone else links in my revit file in BIM 360 Design Collaboration they should be able to view my IFC file but it unload the file.
This does not happen when using Revit on a local server.
So I think this question should be solved by the BIM 360 Design Collaboration forum and not the Revit forum.
Hey,
I've encountered the same issue, is there any progress dealing with linking a nested IFC?
Has there been a resolution on this issue from the BIM360 Doc's Team? Would be good if this could be resolved soon!
Local files link in ifc files fine, but ifc files on BIM360 DC get unloaded when linked.
How are other consultants able to see Federated Steel ifc files if they get unloaded? PLEASE FIX!!
This is a major issue for us currently. It appeared to be fixed/working about a month ago. Is anyone at Autodesk looking into this!?
