IF Statements with YES/NO for visibillty

I have a door family with a nested hardware family and I'd like to change the visibility of the plan view depending on which hardware family is selected. (basically, a ball catch door would show at 45 degrees).

The hardware family is changed by a revit family parameter: Door Hardware Family. If it equals say "Inactive", I'd like to check the Door Hardware (BallCatch) parameter.

see the attached image.

Is this possible?

Set the visibility of the 2D symbolic lines (for 45 degrees) = Hardware (BallCatch)

Ie: when the ballcatch is on the 45in plan is on

You don't really need if statement

Thanks for the reply.

What I meant was. I'd like the Hardware (BallCatch) to be ON, only when the Door Hardware Family is set to the family type Kwikset Katara : Inactive/Dummy.

Hopefully the attached will help.

@paulmonsef

You cannot use the <Family Type> in an IF statement; you will need a second set of parameters (text or integer) in the hardware family before you nest them...then after u nest them into the door, you associate those to similar parameters in the door and u use those to control the yes/no with IF statements

see solution which I posted here ... http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture/formula-lt-family-type-gt-parameter/m-p/6483065#M12...

i have no access to REVIT at the moment, but I will try to check the family u attached as soon as I get to the office 🙂

is Katara still ongoing?
