I'm trying to place exterior wall pack lighting on my building. I have the .ies file and revit model loaded from the manufacturer. When placing the wall packs on different walls, it seems like the actual light from the photometric web does not rotate to be perpendicular to the wall. It seems the light always faces the same direction in the model, no matter what wall it is on. I have attached pictures of the same lighting fixture on the different walls of my structure for reference. Any advice as to a potential fix would be great.
Here are the Zip files I downloaded from the manufacturer. I have the same issue with all the lights. I even tested each model and ies files in another project and had the same problem.
The one I tested appear to be correct (I did need edit type and to reassign the IES). Which specific one that you are having trouble with?
I tried replicating yours and I'm still getting the same problem. This is my type properties and the same lights on two perpendicular walls. It still seems like the photometric web is locked facing a certain direction and won't rotate to be perpendicular to the face of the wall.
I'm new to lighting and photometrics, I noticed you had an IES URL file, but I don't, is that a necessary parameter?
I also get this error message when trying to change any of the initial intensity properties after loading the ies file. If I use an OOTB ies file, I can change the intensity no problem.
You might have an easier go of it by turning on the Light source Subcategory so you can see the actual IES geometry.
Another adjustment you could make is to where the IES Geometry is located at in relationship to the lens in the Family. Nothing preventing you from located it on the outside of the Lens.
