Hello,
1. I have the same shared family in a project with different names: the new being Pallet(Gen) and the old Pallet_[GEN]rfa. I am trying to reload/replace the Pallet_[GEN]rfa family with the Pallet(Gen) family, however I'm conflicted with the warning: "The name "Pallet(Gen)" is already in use."
2. What is a good method for renaming nested families and then loading in to project? Do you have to first rename nested/shared families in your project, before you reload your host family with the renamed nested family into the project?
Any assistance would be much appreciated - thanks!

I'm thinking that maybe I need to open all host families that contain the nested family Pallet_[GEN] and reload it with Pallet(Gen) within there, and then load the host families back in the project, and once all have been moved I can delete/purge the Pallet_[GEN] from the project. I have quite a lot of host families that refer to these nested shared families. So is this the most effective method or is there something else I could do?
- Load the correct shared family Pallet(Gen) in your project
- Open the host families with Pallet_[GEN] and rename the nested family to Pallet(Gen), then reload them in project. Do not choose override Pallet(Gen)family when asked.
probably six of one, half dozen of another, but you could open the families and label the Nested Family in it to a Family Types Parameter in the Host, then reload the Host into Project and swap out its nested family via the Family Type drop-down box.
...might even be able to do the swapping more efficiently through a Schedule.
