I want to takeoff elements inside family

Hello,

I'm currently creating parametric furniture that contains other parametric elements like doors, hinges, etc. But I can not quantity takeoff the elements that the model consists of. Neither inside the family nor inside the project. Is there any way to takeoff all the elements inside rfa. file. I want to be able to takeoff elements like amount of doors, hinges, handles, etc.

The elements inside the family need to be nested Shared families.  Ie: u model them in a separate family and make them shared, then insert them into the main family

Same for the parameters in those nested components. If you want to schedule the size of a door handle, then the parameters therein must be shared parameters

See below article for more info on nested shared components

Thanks a lot! :erhobene_Faust: I've spent hours trying to solve the problem.

I'm gonna create another topic now tho XD.

Now I have a problem with doubling schedules because of various family types where I just hid the model on one type and made it visible for another. Is there any way to not count the invisible elements?

Hidden elements will show in the schedule. That is normal.

If you want to do a schedule for one specific family or type, you need to filter the schedule based on a field/parameter in that schedule

I'll look into filtering then, thank you!
