I cannot find a walltype and I have applied the 2021.1.2 hotfix

I am beginning Eric Wing's 2020 Revit No experience required textbook for school and I cannot find the wall type he is using, which is Exterior - Brick And CMU On MTL.
Stud, instead I see all these abbreviated types I am totally unaware of. I have US English Base Families installed and I cannot install the English US Imperial content from this page https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autodesk-revi...

because it says "some files could not be created. please close all apllications, reboot windows and restart this installation". I have applied a 2021.1.2 hotfix and I am using the latest 21.1.21.45
20201116_1100(x64) version.

Could someone please help me get up to speed?

Wall Types are defined in the template file that you use to start your Revit project. The type you mention is in the default.rte template (attached).

The templates are stored in a location such as C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2021\Templates. You may be getting that error because you already have files in that location and it can't overwrite them. I changed the installation path, that error went away, and now I have the files in C:\ProgramData\Autodesk2\RVT 2021\Templates\English-Imperial

how do i change theinstallation path?

and more importantly how do i get the RVT2021_ENU_Imperial_Libraries.exe (exe – 1.3GB) file to install so the problem solves itself?

When I run RVT2021_ENU_Imperial_FamTemplates_Templates.exe the first screen lets me change the installation folder. You might look at whatever files are in C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2021\Templates and/or search your hard drive for .rte files

that worked, i didn't get that error, so so far so good thank you. However maybe you need to state something even more obvious for me, because I am still seeing those wall types i do not want, I am choosing the new model file option and then the architectural template file. That might be the problem, am i doing something wrong there?

When you click on the Models - New button, the "New Project" dialog has a
dropdown list of templates. Or you can push the Browse button to select any
RTE file. I think if you select the default.rte file it will have the wall
types that you want. After you create a new project and start the Wall
tool, the Properties dialog has a list at the top of the dialog of the
different wall types defined in the project (which come from the template
you used)

Thats the solution mostly. ok so i went to the templates folder and had to choose Default_I_ENU.rte and I am getting the walls the book wants. But how do I change it so that it does it on its own when I choose the "architectural" "new model" "project"? If you can finish that part off for me I will be very very grateful. Or can that not be changed to that degree since I am in Canada?

Go to File - Options - File Locations. At the top of that dialog is a grid
control that lists the name and file location of the templates that are
listed when you create a new project.
