how to undo a vertical opening

I'm back...

Another simple question.  Now that I've learned how to use the "create opening" feature when designing a roof, I have found that it's not so apparent how to undo an opening.  I can click on a roof that was created and modified with an opening.  I can choose to modify the footprint of that roof.  But where do I go to modify a vertical opening that I had created?  The whole thing is invisible.  I have found it before, but don't remember where it was.  Its like hopelessly looking for a lost sock.  ????

I promise to disable spell check... ๐Ÿ™‚

You should be able to select the Roof Opening Cut--and simply delete it.

Try using a Roof Plan or Site Plan view--it could be a cut plane / View Range problem with the view you are using.

I did a quick test by creating a new project, modeling a simple roof, using Vertical Opening Tool, the selecting and deleting the opening.

Works as expected.

If you used an in-place Void to cut the roof, --you may need to use a crossing window to select it--it may be under Generic Model category.

i used the "create opening" tool.

I think I'll do what you did, create a new opening, and study what's going on as I do it a little closer.  that should reveal where it's going.  I think it's  a cut plane / View Range issue like you mentioned.  This is not the first time I've lost my void.  They're probably all in the same place.  Thank you...

Can you select it in a Section and/or a 3D View?

To distinguish in "Revit lingo" the Roof Opening uses an "Opening Cut" --similar to a Door Family.--technically it is not a "Void".

You can use an in-place Void family with Cut Geometry to cut a roof as another method.

So--use Tab until you select the Opening Cut when trying to select it.

Thank you Cliff... I was able to see the "opening cut" in the section view.... I appreciate your time....
