The reality is that the procedure is quite easy and can be overlooked by most professionals, whenever you need to create detail drawings for fabrication it is useful to turn any object into parts, then turn it into an assembly and easily create views for all the required parts. This can also be use to turn any reluctant system/project family into parts.
Just follow the following steps:
- Isolate the railings/families that are meant for fabrication in a 3D view
- Export the view to a .sat file: File>Export>CAD Formats>ACIS(SAT)
- Import the sat file back into revit (Same or new project, it helps to keep fabrication objects on a separate project file that can be linked to the main file but you can easily import to the same project on a separated workset)
- Clic on the imported sat object
- Then Modify>Create>Create parts
