How to show water in a pool hole.

Have an odd shaped 4 inches thick exterior concrete slab that indicates the existing concrete deck around an odd shaped existing pool with curves. The pool right now is indicated with an odd shaped hole in that concrete pad.

How can we show, with a single plane, the water inside that hole to indicate the pool water, and maybe about 3 inches below the top of the surrounding concrete deck?

The pool water volume and shape would not change, so the subtracted volume below the water is not important, only the water (to occupy the hole) have to show in the 3-D of the house (maybe at some future date I might also ask how to show the concrete volume below that holds the water, but at this moment that is not important).

Water is already a standard material.  Open up your material browser from the manage tab.  If  a water material isn't already created in your project, then create a new material, open up the asset browser and do a search for water.  Revit 2014 has several choices of water to pick from including "swimming pool".  Select the asset of your choice  and click on the icon with the right left arrows that shows up when you hover over the asset.  Click and this will load the material properties into the material you just created. 

Other versions of Revit might be slightly different as the Material editor has evolved over several releases, but the concept should be the same.

Last simply create a mass object or  a floor that uses the water material and place it in the hole.

New related question for a different new project: The water is transparent and I will like to show a pad underneath.  How do you create a pad that goes down a few feet under the transparent hole and can be seen below the water?

Also, second related question, the pool is located on a rooftop pool, so some parts of the pad under the water will be sloped, if that could be done also.  The pad could be drawn to be sloped?.
