Dear forum members,
I am using Revit 2016 now.
I am trying to get correct room information in a particular format into an Excel spreadsheet from a drawing that was made by others. Revit help is not working and online help is working poorly.
An example of a badly formatterd field is the level field. It says for example :
10 Niveau +02 +65.64
Revit seems to get the level from the name of floor plans.
I would like it to say :
02
One way would be to change the name of floor plans. Is there a better way ?
I looked at the ‘Caclulated Value…’ tool in ‘Schedule Properties’, ‘Fields’, but it appears unable to use the Level field.

Revit always gives you an option when changing the name of a level. So it is also the other way around. When changing the name of a floorplan it will ask you to also use this name for level and corresponding views. When changing the name of your level, it will ask to change also the names of the corresponding views.
If you want to read an easy level name, just change it in your section. Click a level and change its name. Then choose no, if you don't want the view names to be updated.
Thank you. That procedure actually appears to work. Contrary to what I expected, Revit does not change the descripion of the level in the section view.
I have hit a snatch. Apparently some of the rooms are according to Revit on a different 6th floor (probably because there are two buildings) and when I try to rename the 2nd 6th floor in a section view, Revit complains the name already exists and refuses to name that floor 06.
How can I convince Revit to name in a schedule the level of all rooms on the 6th floor 06 and not just half of them ?
A workaround is to call the other 006 and export the floors as numbers. That way in Excel the floors are called 6.
Are both levels 6 on the same height?
Avaris : “Are both levels 6 on the same height?”
That depends on how you define height, but they are approximately the same height. The level indicators differ by a few cm.
ToadDN : “You need to add a new parameter to the schedule and use it in lieu of the system "Name" parameter to enter the "Name" for the Levels.”
How can I do that ? I don’t understand what levels have to do with the “Name” parameter.
