Hello!
Simple workflow question:
If I want to select, say, all the windows in the scene, I have to select every scene object first, then use the 'Filter' popup dialog to switch off anything but 'Window'.
Is it possible to do the same without having to select anything first? Because the bigger the scene gets, the more time-consuming this is.
Like bring up some filter dialog, check 'Windows', and press 'Select'.
Thanks!!

@Tupaia hello, not possible you have to select first. or you can try > just go to VG > untick everything except window. thanks
@Tupaia hello, my understanding is you don't want to select anything first? using isolate category you still need to select element. ha ha ha...thanks
You're right - I have to select object(s) of the needed type first.
However, the 'Isolate Category' way comes close enough to what I was looking for. After all, if I first select from a list of types or in the viewport does not make much of a difference.
Appreciate your tip, too! The question here is, how do I go back to the Visibility settings before?
Thanks!

For selecting all of one TYPE... right-click on a Window and choose one of the Select All options from the context menu.
