How to Select "separations Rooms"

Good morning I have a question and it is this: if in a model I have multiple spaces delimited by "separations rooms"; how do I select the "separations rooms adjacent to the physical walls of the model, so that I don't have to select one by one?

are we talking about multiple spaces delineated by Room Separation Lines?

...A Filter (by selection set)?

Take a look at the Warnings--they will show " A Wall and a Room Separation Line Overlap", etc.

Hit the + button, it will list each instance, which may be selected by id number.

Manage Tab>Inquiry>Warnings>

This will improve model performance as well. While you are there, try to "clean up" other Warnings--it takes time, but worth it.

Just select everything in your pan- using a fence selection

Then use the Filter to weed out what you're after (ie Room Separation Lines)

Selecting and Filtering Elements

Hope this helps

Kind regards,
Ian

I think he wants only the Room Sep Lines that are buried in walls.

I think both. OP said " close or in physical walls".  As I can say is; he must have a ****load of 'em if he's asking here for ideas on how he can find them all.

If you are looking to clean them up:  Create a dedicated view, isolate the Walls and Room Separation line categories, override the Room Separation line category with a bold color/weight, then visually inspect.

Great, do you know some shortcut, to do this process automatically, i mean, some like dynamo.

Thanks.

Sorry but I lost you here.  Do you mean a shortcut to create the inspection view or shortcut to visually inspect the view?

If the former, you can create one view and make a view template, then use it for other levels if you need to.  If the latter, no, you still need to look at the view and use your judgment to pick the offending lines and delete them.

a short cut or parameter to visually inspect the view, but without the need for me to intervene to discriminate offensive lines, I want revit to do this automatically at the view.

No such thing in Revit except for the warning messages already covered.  You can certainly look into Dynamo.

Without Dynamo and visual inspection, I can only think of this approach:

- link your file to a new file

- create a wall type with the thickness is twice the distance where you want the room separation to be detected.  For example, if you want any separation lines 12" or less from a wall to be detected, then make the wall type 24" thick.

- copy monitor the walls from the link and set the type translation to convert all copied walls to the 24" type

- link this file back into your file and set it to be Room Boundaries, the 24" walls will collide with any room separation lines touching them and create warnings

Actually that's a great idea, @ToanDN
