How to put more control into the placement of Section View?

Hello,
Could you give me some advice?

How to put more control into the placement of Section View?

I want to
- measure between a section and a grid (or wall, any other object)
- align a crop region to a section end.(or its' opposite)

I know this
- it's available to "set" a section with snap.
  but i want to check the placement after the time has passed.

Are these available?

Please excuse my poor English,
If you have any trouble understanding my English, please feel free to ask so I can clarify as best as I can.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated,

About having more control over the section, as far as I know, you can enter in the section view, select the boundaries, and then you can edit the crop or define its size, and while editing you can measure the boundary and a grid.

@Anonymous,

Thank you for your quick response!
Your description image is easy to understand.

I use it to align a crop region to a level line,
but I didn't have the idea that measure side of a crop region on section view not plan view.

If there are not any function to align a crop region to a section end,
I'll measure as your advice and adjust it manually.

If you have any idea to measure section's position,
Please show me how to do that.

you can draw a detail-line over the section, snapping to the blue dots, first the "tail dot" and then the "head dot".

You can then use the detail-line to measure distances.section_position.JPG

Use a Reference Plane to "snap" the Section to when placing it. Then you can dimension from the Ref. Plane to other elements.

Sorry if I am not sure about what you really need, what I can share about having control over sections, is the following.

1.As mentioned before you can place some reference planes, and you can "draw" a section and you can snap the beginning and end of the section with those reference planes.

2. You can define the actual depth of a section on the properties, and define a depth in meters.

3. You can attach a scope box to one or several sections, which means that to modify those sections you will only have to modify that scope box.

Hope that some of that info may be useful for you, maybe you can use a scope box and attach it to the sections. I do not know if you can attack scope boxes or define its size, but maybe you could use this as a second approach to your problem.

@FAIR59@cbcarch, @Anonymous

Thank you so much for all of your kind reply!

I searched more and more, but I couldn't find better way.

Now, I do as your ideas.

I choose the easiest description to understand as SOLUTION.

I really appreciate all of you!
