how to parameterize the gradient of the structural column

HI,I am a port engineer from china. REVIT is very convenient for the Civil construction project , but sometime not for the port construction project

How can I parameterize the gradient of the structural column? For the open type wharf with standing piles project , there are always a lot of incline piles, which would be build in the “metric structure column in the revit. I had try the method in the help revit help file ,thought the controlling the end point or controlling its angle. But in fact, it is a tedious work , especially when the Program is constantly revised.

I hope i can change the column gradient by a parameter. Are there any advices?

Attachment NO.1 is my revit project. Attachment  NO2 is its piles layout drawing.

I'm not clear on exactly what you're trying to achieve, but it sounds like the methodology described in the link below might apply:

Thanks for you answer very much .I had read the article carefully .Yes ,my question is similar to the one in the blog: using a parameter to modify the Slant of a Structural Column.

I have build a family by his method which is in the attachment .But using the "generic adaptive template" to build a pile foundation family is not perfect.it loose some advantages comparing using the "structure column template". For example ,there are not Structural Column Analysis Properties. And it not easy for me to change the top cut style into horizontal.

Do  you have more advice about it ?

Hello @YPY19871125  I am the author of that article, but I would not recommend those methods for this case. I would simply use the Slanted Column tool. Set the top and bottom to horizontal. Then draw an angular dimension between the reference level and the center line of the column, then adjust the value of the angular dimension as needed.

Wow, your ideal is very wonderful.

I create the model using the slanted column tool previously .But it is a tedious work , especially  when doing the modification. I must build a section pass the pile and then rotate its angle in order change its angle to vertical .what is more ,I can’t mark its incline parameter automatically or add it in the schedule~~~

Thank you. As your advice, using the column template is the best way.
