how to offset with a instance-formula istance for a MASS form

Hello,
I need to create a mass form by a loop of 3D lines (green line)which offset from 3D-snapping points (red dots)
the offset distance ("a") need to be a flex instance formula

Please advice how, thanks

Are you trying to create a parametric wedge-shaped form?

it is not wedge, it is a main corner beam which bottom edge ti be offset （“a”） from a flex distance from the edge of red joist  (a=width of red joist, which varies)

if offset by 3D point, the distance of host is U-V, not controllable, and if offset from a reference line betwee two 3D points, the mass will be conflicted unable to create a form, as I tried

Not enough information.  Offset based on which direction?  There can be millions of points orbiting the original point with the same distance.

Huh? I understood "hello barthbradley", but nothing else.  Maybe if you post your Revit file, I'll be able to figure out what you are trying to do.

Please find the rvt, the purpose is a corner beam which bottom =a offset (flex formula) from the red joist (3D snapping)

OK, I am done with generic model adaptive, though 26 ap a bit complicated
