How to nest a "Generic Model Floor based family" into a "Door Family"

Hi! so, i'm creating a door family of a full parametric sliding glass doors.

This doors will have the rail where the frames slide embedded into the floor, so the top face of the bottom rail is at the same level of the floor. Like the bottom rail of this picture:

I created a Generic model floor based to make this cut to the floor and it works. But i want to nested into the door family i'm creating in order to being able to control width and length of the extrude void but haven't found the way to nest the generic model into the door family. So, when i change the width of the door the cut on the floor has the same dimensions...

Is it possible to do it the way i'm thinking it... or is there another way to accomplished?

Thank you for your help!!

I don't believe you can host a family in two different ways, i.e. in a wall and in a floor.

So that would leave you with two options.

1) Host the door as normal with the track etc embedded into the floor and then add a second family to cut a void in the floor

2) Host the door in the floor and cut the wall with a second family to create the opening for the door in the wall.

- non host door family 1, shared
- floor based generic family 2 with void to cut floor
- nest 1 into 2
- load 2 in project

That won't cut the wall though will it?

No. Cut wall or cut floor. He has to choose one if using the nesting approach and cut the walls with opening. If it was me, I just use two separate families and constrain their dimensions in project.
